A good read for Small Business. This book flows very well. Good foundation on how to build your business on the Internet. Provides good direction on internet marketing resources. I particularly enjoyed the insight on – E-zines, Blogs, podcasts, and developing an internet marketing plan. Very practical advice on how to implement new media into your business. I recommend.

I met Alison and Lena at one of their presentations and purchased their book as soon as it was available. Not only does this book help you learn how to use new media, it has loads of examples of what to say and how to say it when you create your media marketing. Lena suggested I use a wellness guide I wrote as an ebook. Now that I’ve read the book I have a much better idea of how to do this and why it will be effective for my small business. I recommend this book for anyone looking for simple but effective explanations on how to use new media and increase their business.

I found this to be a fantastic book, and one that I highly recommend to entrepreneurs who want to increase brand awareness and business utilizing the internet. I received the book in the mail on Friday, had it finished by Tuesday,and had a 12 month coordinated internet marketing plan (including E-Zines, Blogs, and Podcasts) in place by Sunday. You do not have to be a computer geek to understand this. It was so well written, I feel like I had Lena and Alison right next to me, guiding me through the process of implementation. There are so many jewels of wisdom in it, I now refer to the book as “My Jewel Box.” Watch out world! With all I’ve learned, you are going to see alot from Sensibly Chic Interior Design!!!

The title of this book makes a promise that it will tell you “How to Say It: Marketing with New Media.” Claxton and Woo do focus on the “How” of getting a business message on/in your website, ezines, blogs and podcasts, but also “How” to say it appropriately and consistently — two things that are extremely important to business owners.
This book is a good introduction and overview to these new medias. It is most helpful to new businesses or businesses new to technical media. It does not include much information on social networking. The how-to information in the book will help readers determine if they want to pursue the idea of marketing through ezines, blogs and podcasts. Personally I don’t think there is a question that a business must use websites. I was very pleased that the book focused on the business message and expressing it in an appropriate way on the website to get customers/clients instead of using the website to make an artistic statement or as an ego vehicle for the business owner(s) or website creator. I hope website developers will read this book.
If you are unfamiliar with websites, blogs, ezines and/or podcasts or are unsure about using them, then this book should be very helpful for you.

As someone who is thinking about starting up a small business, I find this book very interesting and loaded with many tips that will be useful in establishing my business. This book was written in a way that made it easy to read and, for the average person who is not so internet savvy to still understand how these different tools can be useed to improve one’s business. I am already looking forward to the next edition.
